Favourite Ingredients.. Himalayan Pink Salt
The star ingredient in our Salted Caramel Crunch goldenball is Himalayan pink salt, which is believed to be the purest form of salt available, and, of course, the prettiest! It is derived from ancient sea salt deposits in the foothills of the Himalayas, formed over 250 million years ago.
While the differences are undoubtably small, it’s found that table salt is usually heavily refined and mixed with anti-caking agents such as sodium aluminosilicate or magnesium carbonate, to prevent clumping. Another plus is that Himalayan salt does not generally contain any additives.
We find the Salted Caramel Crunch is the best of our energy balls for post exercise, when we need to keep our sodium levels topped up to prevent dehydration and cramping. By adding the salt to dates, maca powder and maple syrup, we think we have nailed the salted caramel flavour perfectly, while being nutritious AND delicious. Remember, all goldenballs are vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free as well!
